KEYBOARD AND USB MOUSE NOT WORKING

Hi all
I have a lot of questions.

1] I have KNOPPIX 3.2 Live CD. It boots ok and shows me the desktop but my mouse is centered and my mouse and keyboard doesn't work.

WHAT I DID TRY.
I tried using acpi=off & keyboard=us but it didnt work.

My keyboard uses the following drivers on WIN ME.(Just an additional info.)
KBDHID.VXD & VMM32.VXD(ntkern.vxd)

2] Even if i type knoppix screen=800*600 it starts off with 1280*.... resolution.

3] The first thing i get when i press enter at the boot prompt is
ERROR: Only one processor found.

4] I disabled the h/w detections by typing no{scsi,.............} but it still try to detect the USB.

Can anyone help me.

1] Knoppix 3.2 is ancient, you'd have better luck with a newer one. Check the "Get Knoppix" link at the to of this page.
2] That's screen=800x600 , not 800*600
3] It's ok. If you have a P4 hyperthreading processor it could use symmetric multiprocessing as the kernel seems to be smp enabled, but with a single processor that error is no error in itself.
4] Same as 1]

Use Knoppix 3.8.2 or 4.0. Both support USB keyboards and mice.

Just curious why you skipped and didn't sugguest 3.9?

In my experience, 3.9 has some some serious issues with the unionfs.

In screen=800x600 is it x(alphabet) or another character.

And my connection is not so fast to download the knoppix 3.8.2 version.
I will still try.

But isnt there any way to get around the prob.

It's x (alphabet)

Also if it's impossible to download an iso, you can buy them or if you're from the us try asking these guys nicely http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20585

EDIT: Just saw that Harry has got maxed out on requests, still you can ask if eco2geek has any kanotix cd's left.
