Download Knoppix 3.8.1 and use the article at http://serios.net/content/debian/java/ with the 0.24 java-package, and you can have 1.5.0_04 using Knoppix.

Note that the 0.26 java-package doesn't work under 3.8.1, and the whole smash doesn't work with Knoppix 4.02.
