I recently installed knoppix v3.9 on my sony vaio laptop. The GUI loaded just fine for the first 4 or 5 boots and
then all of the sudden, no GUI just manual prompt. I logged in and tried using startx to load the GUI but it just gives me errors.
Is there another command to load the GUI? This happened on my Dell Laptop as well and i just rebooted 10-15 times and it finally it gave me the GUI again.

Computer is a:
Sony Vaio PCG-F610
Mobile AMD k6-2 550 Mhz
128MB ram

I did alot of searching and all i found was that you should edit your XF86Config file and set your
vertical and horizontal refresh rates manually. Still doesnt explain the fact that it booted into the GUI
at once, and then all of the sudden stopped.
