hi all, i want to try different ways to run knoppix and other linux distros and i came across QEMU. it's like VMware and virtual pc. i have tried to maximize the memory to run knoppix dvd on QEMU and QEMU manager. my issue arises when knoppix runs, it eats up all the ram inside QEMU and gives it to the ramdisk. knoppix detects my processor fine(1.6Ghz) and i allocated 256mb to the virtual machine. knoppix boots up to the gui, but on a very slow pace. would anybody be around here to make some insights how to run the virtual machine faster? it takes almost 3 minutes to open a window. because of the slowdown, the time inside the virtual machine is like 5 minutes late. whew! the horror!
