    noch ein nooby (Linux/Knoppix) mit einfachen (???) Probs

    Moin Gemeinde,

    als Windows- und Hardware-Vollprofi, will ich einen weiteren Versuch starten auch Linux zu verstehen. Diesmal habe ich mir Knoppix für den Versuch auserkoren. Leider tut (wie auch erhofft) einiges nicht, denn so lernt sichs ja am schnellsten

    Konfig:
    * Knoppix mit sudo knoppix-installer auf eine seperate Festplatte installiert (Debian style), 5 Gig + 1 Gig swap
    * Hardware: NForce4 board (Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9, AMD 64 3500+, ATI X800XT, der Rest sollte keine Rolle spielen)

    Was ich jetzt als erstes benötige ist I-Net Zugriff. Die Browser jedoch schweigen beharrlich. Die bootbare CD hatte mit der Verbindungseinrichtugn keinen Stress, ergo muss das an der Konfig allgemein liegen. Im Kontrollzentrum (glaube ich) habe ich auch was zur Netzwerkkartenkonfiguration gesehen und das war dort auch korrekt auf "Direkte Verbindung mit I-Net" eingestellt. So muss ich jetzt annehmen, dass die Netzwerkkarte an sich falsch konfiguriert ist.

    Wie komme ich da ran? Wo kann ich sehen, ob die HW korrekt installiert/konfiguriert "what ever" ist?

    THX

    [quote="mad"]Konfig:
    * Knoppix , ... , 1 Gig swap - zu viel*!
    * Hardware: der Rest sollte keine Rolle spielen - *wieviel RAM hast du - 512MB oder mehr? Dann 1 Gig swap is fahr zu viel.

    So, Netzwerk funktioniert, habe alsaconf gefunden, welches das völlig alleine korrekt gemacht hat.
    Stört 1 Gig Swap? macht es das Sys langsamer? Wenn nein, wäre es egal, da genug Platz da ist.
    Jetzt wird mit der Bildschirmfarbeinstellung weitergekämpft. Die Icondarstellung und anderes erscheinen wie mit nur 256 farben.

    Jemand einen Tip?

    hm was für verbindung solls denn sein ?
    DSL über router oder gleich ans modem ?
    Ne normale LAN Verbindung kann über netcardconfig eingerichtet werdend das netcardconfig findet sich unter dem kde menü irgendwo bei system und nochmal konfiguration
    ... direkte dsl einwahl wird wohl über sowas wie Kinternet oder so klappen weis ich aber nicht da ich das selbst noch nie hatte
