knoppix 3.2 + airsnort won't work :(

Hi all, i just installed knoppix 3.2 on my laptop and airsnort is refusing to work, it says "could not set monitor mode" whenever i try and start. I am running a linksys WPC11 card which has a prism2/3 chipset. Knoppix is loading up the orinoco driver which for some reason airsnort doesn't like. If anyone has a solution for this problem or perhaps knows of a different program that works like airsnort that would work any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm having a simmilar problem using a orinoco card as well. i am able to sucessfully and fully use kismet, but airsnort doesnt want to show my card in its list of avalible network cards. strange. any ideas?

you need to run the patched orinoco driver. alot of people are having issues with this.

To the best of my knowledge, this newest release of knoppix (7-26) is running the patched orinoco drivers. that is how i am able to run kismet. if this is not the case, then please explain further.
