    Customizing Knoppix after successful remastering

I have remastered knoppix successfully For my regional language
I would like to know how to get a pretty load screen rather than all those lines of scary writing that sometimes freak a normal end user out ,if I put Knoppix on their computer.

It would be nice to have a mandrake or morphix style - press F2 for verbose mode - sort of thing but otherwise a nice Knoppix picture to make it all clean.

so in a way i want to clear the freaky screen showing all the processes going on.. like scanning for usbs and all .. instead i just want to put a new image designed over it.. so that the ongoing process is hidden from the end user..
    whats the process of it..

Use cheatcode splash. Anyway, it is no exactly what you mean but much better than nothing. I would myself like to use spash as used in Suse but don't know how to do it. But I think it is not an easy job to do.

Perhaps you would like to check Damn Small Linux (derived from Knoppix). It is a very tiny distro (about 50 MB) and uses Grub for booting and is something you are looking for. Perhaps modifying it would be much easier than doing everything from scratch.

Correcting... I ment Kanotix and not DSL, sorry.

    Thanks tr for the help...
U talked something abt cheat codes splash ... its working fine..
but what if i wanna make it default.. ?? like without typing it take splash as cheat codes by default?? Any idea..

other than that one more question coming up (no relation to splash):
Since i have remastered for my regional language.. an idea creeping in.
how abt changing the default codes in knoppix, it takes english(en) as default language code. and for regional language me need to type lang="mylanguage" in which mylanguage stands for the language i want to run for .. how can i change english default language booting to some other language.. What changes to be done and in which file?? is it isolinux.cfg?? what r the basic changes to be done so that as soon as i boot knoppix, it by default leads me to my regional language without typing cheat codes
