How to change resolution to 1600X1200X32@85 Knoppix 4.0.2

Can it be done? I have an NEC MultiSync FE2111SB 21" Flat Screen Monitor the looks devine @ 1600X1200X32 @85Hz, and I need to know how to set my Knoppix Live CD to do this. Any help would be most welcome. TIA.

Probably. It depends on if your hardware might be capable under Knoppix. Look at the following link: http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Cheat_Codes Look for cheatcodes that might have to do with Graphics configuration. Make sure your display adaptor is correctly identified. Experiment with different cheatcode combinations. You might get there with a simple "knoppix screen=1600x1200" and then you might have to add others in combination. Be sure to note the syntax described in the link.

Good Luck! Let us know how you make out.

Thanx I will check out that link in the morning. Sorry I forgot to post my system info.

    ATI Radeon 9700 Pro.
    SOYO KT880 Dragon 2 v2.0 MOBO.
    AMD Athlon XP 2400+
    1GB Crucial PC2700 DDR Ram.
    Knoppix 4.0.2 Live CD.

Knoppix detects the 9700 Pro with no known issues. So I hope things will work smoothly. Will post results in the morning.

Thanks for the warm friendly welcome and the quick response to my post.

    God bless.

    You are quite welcome!

I just want to see your issue resolved. It would be nice to be able to use all of that screen real estate if you could. Let us know how you make out.
