Help!

Hi I just bought Knoppix 3.6. I can boot up etc. I've read other posts and stuff on how to save settings you have changed, so I do what they say on how to put it on a floppy disk but when I boot up I have write something at the "boot:" thing, so I write what they say to write and about in the middle while it's booting up it says "can't find dir" or something like that.

I would save it on my HD but I can't because my HD is formatted with Windows XP and NTFS.

What do I do?

could you give exact erormessage? and what you wrote.
btw do you have usb and a memorystic? in that case you could use that.

No I don't have a memory stick or anything like that.

One time I wrote in:

knoppix myconf=/dev/fd0

It asked me for the root password but I didn't know the root password.
