No Internet connection

Fresh Newb here looking for assistance.... when iboot noppix, i have no internet connection, i have a 3meg cable connection, is there a wizard for setting up yer internet connection? any help would be great.

Lots more information needed.
Do you hook into your cable modem through a router? USB?
What's the output of the command "ifconfig"?

I connect to my internet via network cable, wich is connected to my cable modem (no router yet) and im nott sure what you mean by Ifconfig..

Go to root terminal and type ifconfig, Enter. You will see some information about network card and some other things.

zomb, try this:

K (Windows=Start) >> KNOPPIX >> NETWORK / INTERNET >> NETWORK CARD CONFIGURATION

Enter your root password in the pop-up.

Click "YES" to use DHCP and Knoppix will do some system magic stuff.

Then, start a browser, and see if it works. Don't forget to stop back here and tell us when you have it fixed.
