webcam not detected if plugged in before booting
I have remastered the 4.0.2 CD in order to use it for gnomemeeting and some other stuff.
I want to make this as simple for (other people) to use as possible, but it seems that
if you plug in a USB web cam (I've tried a couple of different ones, a D-link that uses
the ov511 module and a Logitech that uses the pwc module) before booting,
the kernel doesn't know it is there. I've tried modprobe'ing some generic modules (like videodev)
to see if that would get things going, but no luck there either.
It does work if the USB cable is unplugged and re-inserted, or if you wait until booting is complete
before plugging it in.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
