lo, im relatively new to linux, i did a HD install of knoppix and it was the ONLY distro that i could get my USB WiFi adapter to work with by using NDISWRAPPER, this is mainly thanks to the Network Card and Wavelan configuration utilities included with knoppix.

However, the only internet programs i can get to work are konqueror and Firefox (after i disabled IPv6 in about:config) i have since replaced the line

alias net-pf-10 ipv6
in /etc/modprobe.d/aliases with
alias net-pf-10 off
to disable IPv6 systemwide since my isp doesnt support it. now most HTTP programs such as Akregator work, but must of the such as gaim still stall at connecting, but if i ping messenger.hotmail.com first then gaim connects, but then stalls at starting authentication.

I know this has some problem to do with my internet settings, but being a complete newb im clueless, and help would be apprecitaed.
