Can you describe what you mean by "ftp banner", and what you would like it to be like?

running a Knoppix FTP Server.
if users are connecting they get:
"220 Knoppix FTP Server (version......etc)
that I want to change

Knoppix includes an FTP server? I've wished but never found it. Please tell us how you started it and anything you do to configure to control what directories it has access to and who can access.
