    Will KNOPPIX run on an Intel Itanium platform?

    I have several Itanium platforms and I would like to know if KNOPPIX will run on them.

    The hardware is HP RX2600 series.

    I believe it will not run. You are certainly welcome to try it but Itaniums use EFI instead of a PC BIOS to boot from storage devices. Since Knoppix is designed to run on x86 ia32 and the bootloader (ISOLINUX/SYSLINUX) is designed to work with i386 & above I think it will fail to boot.
