add to the end of your boot prompt the following:

boot: [all the stuff you enter] alsa

note the addition of the word "alsa" to the end of your boot prompt command line....

As far as I know, the addition of this on any boot prompt, will configure, and activate, the use of ALSA - most Distro's ( Knoppix and Kanotix ) permit this inclusion on the boot prompt, for booting the Live CD -=- this is not how it is done when you HDD install though... Just for the Live CD boot
