What would be the best way to troubleshoot this? Any ideas on how I can determine what is causing this issue?
I have a server system:
Asus cuv4x-d motherboard
dual pentium 3 cpu's
Adaptec 2100s scsi card with raid 1 setup(2x16gb drives)
I am trying to use Knoppix to back up the system but
The only way I can get knoppix to boot is by using "failsafe"
If I try to boot normally or with "knoppix 3" I get a blank screen.
If I use "debug" then I see that the boot process freezes at:
ENABLING IO-APIC IRQs.
I have tried booting with diferent options like "no scsi" "no apic" etc. to try and
determine what is causing the hangup. Nothing works I get a blank screen.
How can I troubleshoot this issue?![]()

Try booting with the expert cheat code, step through the boot questions and take notes about how you answer them. When the system hangs reboot and answer the last questions differently.Originally Posted by dohpaz

Verifying of md5 checksum and burning a CD at slow speed are important.
From that error, could try all or 1 or 2 of these at the boot: prompt
if I'm not mistaken - at the least the correct syntax for what you typed is;Code:knoppix26 acpi=off apm=off apic=off
noapic (<-- no blank spaces)
