I encountered problem on burning DVD ISO image on DVD+RW


1st test on Vebatim DVD+RW

It took long time to complete md5sum test and I could not discover where to stop it.
simulate - not permitted on DVD-RW

failed with following warning;
X media is not formatted or unsupported
X :_(write failed: Wrong medium type
X K3b detected a problem with the media
X Please try another media brand, preferably one explicitly recommended by your writer
X Report the problem if it persists anyway

2nd test - burning on a brand-new TDK DVD+RW

Wrinting Mode - Auto
Speed - Auto
failed with following warning;
Writing speed 5678 KB/s (4.10x)
X media is not formatted or unsupported
X :_(write failed: Wrong medium type
X K3b detected a problem with the media
X Please try another media brand, preferably one explicitly recommended by your writer
X Report the problem if it persists anyway

Formatted DVD+RW
Writing Mode - Auto
Speed - Auto
Quick format (checked)

Proceeded - It seemed no action taken, the light on the DVD Writer did not glow
displaying :-
Checking media
Found DVD+RW media
No need to format DVD+RW media more than once
It may simply be overwritten
- Success -
Overall progress - 100%
taking about 1 minute to finish.


Burned DVD ISO image again.
Same result - no burning with the same warning displayed as above.


Formatted DVD+RW, this time with "Quick format" unchecked
Same result as "Quick format" checked. The light of the DVD writer did not glow. I don't think there was any action taken.

Would K3b and relevant tools on Knoppix are not up-to-date to run DVD Writer?
