Boot startup solved

I tried to starup my CD and a couple of times it would get stuck - funny. Then it would finally complete startup sequence w/o persistance and it was very slooow. So I cleaned house on some files on my HDD (you know - the files saved but never used but once or ever). Now I was good to go. Boot was quick and smoooth - funny eh.

Don't really see how it would relate ... unless you were trying to copy over or install to your hdd. But you say w/o persistance.

So, whatever it was, it hasn't been revealed yet.

I don't suppose your cdrom/dvd drive had lot power for some reason. A fluctuating psu ?

I agree. Knoppix doesn't care about the hard drive. This seems to be a case of confusing "this happened after that happened" with "this happened because that happened".
