Which did you try? Do you have the same problem when using failsafe? Can you boot into runlevel 3?

Is this the problem? How do I fix this? I tried knoppix screen=1600x1200 but it didn't help.
Dunno, but I doubt it. My guess is still the video driver, so let's try some possibilities. First let's try this: boot into runlevel 3 with boot: knoppix 3. Then in the virtual console type this bit of code:
