removing packages

I want to know if there is a command to remove all the packages from knoppix 3.8. I am remastering a copy of knoppix v3.8 and only want a fw programs. I dont want to remove one program at a time and would like if if someone knows how to remove all programs using one command.

You should know, that PROGRAM != PACKAGE; if You remove all packages, include kernel, glibc, etc... You will have totally, absolutely nothing; better idea is to remove groups of packages, with lots of caution, like that:

apt-get remove python*
apt-get remove Xwindow*

maybe packages that provides X Window System have diffrent name, but it doesn't really matter now; You have to keep the kernel, glibc, one of the shells and lots of other packages, so the system can operate
