IBM Thinkpad 600. Sound needed some tweaking but works using the OSS cs4232 driver.
IBM Thinkpad 600E. Again sound didn't work out of the box. CS46XX driver, not tried yet though.
Acer Travelmate 212TX. Sound works without any tweeking
Keyboard/Video/Mouse works fine on all the above.
Acer Aspire 1705SMi
Boots. Video defaults to 1024x768 rather than the correct 1280x1024.
Synaptics Mousepad & keyboard worked fine.
Onboard Eth detected but would not initialise
Didn't get the onboard wlan or sound working (but didn't try too hard)

Linksys WPC11v.3 802.11b pcmcia wireless card
Knoppix installed to hard drive.
2.4.24 custom kernel with cpufreq, lowlatency, preempt, and secacl patches, no xfs.
Everything works and with the custom kernel I built, I get the best of 2.4. and 2.6 kernels. Suspend, cpufreq, and watching DVD movies all work great. Wireless works without having to remove the modules before suspending. Captive-ntfs works great for reading/writing to ntfs drives. Default window manager is Enlightenment DR16 with KDE support.
Haven't tested infrared or the modem, but both aren't high priority items at the moment.
i just installed knoppix in my AOPEN 1545...
all seem to be in order... but only time will tell![]()
IBM thinkpad A20p worked perfectly: dual boot XP and Knoppix. Everything in knoppix works (video, sound, network, wireless connection). No complaints from me. Great job everyone who has played and continues to play a role in this project.
Knoppix3.3 is working via cd but when perfroming HD install screen comes up with to large settings, not sure how to solve this. Tried XF86Config-4 file but no luck, will perform new HD install
I got Knoppix 3.3 and many other remasters (Overclockix, Danix, STD, ect.) working on my Alienware Area 51-m.
P4 2.8 Ghz
ATI Radeon Mobility 9800
Realtek WLAN card (Atheros based, I had to do a ton of messing around to get it to work, ended up with the Linuxant Driver Loader because madwifi and NDISwrapper didn't work.)
20 GB Harddrive
1 GB or RAM
Knoppix installed to Harddrive
2.6.5 Kernel Recompile, i love the newer features.
DVD-RW Drive, (haven't tested yet, I don't really have a need for it right now.
It also auto-detects and installs drivers for my Remote Control that comes with the system that works through infrared.
