Hauppage WinTV-PVR-150

i have the Hauppage WinTV-PVR-150 and am trying to get it to run with the livecd (no install). when i run xawtv, i select ntsc, then have tried us-bcast and us-cable, then it says "the installation was aborted. dyu want to start xawtv anyway?" i click yes and it doesnt start. im mostly trying to use my gamecube which is hooked up to the tricolor ports. any help would be appreciated. also im the epitome of a linux newb.

if i understand correctly, you are using the three (red, white, yellow) rca banana plug connections.

if so, this would be a "composite" connection for xawtv (not ntsc or pal)

i dont have that option.

Here's my suggestion

look at your .xawtv config file in your home directory

your input should have an entry for norm= and for input=

change input=Composite0
change norm=PAL

This is what I had to do to get input from a webcam
