xmms seems to be misloading the song lengths of my vbr mp3s. the times that appear in the playlist are usually much longer than the mp3's actual length. however, when i play one of the incorrect playlist entries, the correct time is loaded, and replaces the previous incorrect time in the playlist. it was suggested to me that my vbr mp3s were incorrectly encoded; maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but all the media players i use in windows load these same files (and their lengths) correctly. what could be going wrong?
