Knoppix 5.01 hangs during autoconfiguring devices.

I have downloaded Knoppix 5.01 for DVD.
On a simple my older computer it works fine without any problem
but on my Medion MD8386XL computer it hang during booting. (
- During booting: Starting udev hot-plug hardware detection works but cost much more time than knoppix 4.0.2
Autoconfiguring devices don't stop. At the end of the line I must push "Enter" en than a new green
background line appears. etc.
- I have tried to boot with: knoppix dma and knoppix nodma both with the same result.
with de failsafe option it works good with ofcause a lot of limitations.

With Knoppix 4.0.2 on DVD I have no booting problems on this computer, there was no udev and autoconfiguring goes very fast.

I hope someone can help me to resolve this problem

If it works in failsafe, it is just a matter of finding out what part of the failsafe process fixed your problem. Here is a link to the cheatcode section of the documentation. http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Cheat_Codes Look at the section that describes what failsafe does. I will opaste it her for you. I would suggest that you try one thing at a time until tou find the item/code that does the trick.
