Nube needs help installing

I just got knoppix on my new hard drive and been haveing alot ofn problems here and there mostly installing drivers, but they all spwn form the same point. HOW DO YOU INSTALL A PROGRAM. I download these winziped things and have no clue what to do with them. I can't find help anywhere. Thanks!

What kind of programs do you have which are winziped? Most of the stuff you download for Linux should be in .gz, .bz2 or (for Knoppix) usually.deb. Assuming they are compatible, you can simply download a .deb to your desktop adn click on it, and follow the instructions from there.

For .gz and .bz2, usually they will need to be compiled. If you can look inside the archive of the program, there is usually a readme file that will tell you what to do.
