It is not necessary to uninstall Knoppix. Just start Windows XP, go to System Management and run Disk Management to repartition the drive: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309000/EN-US/
i have a knoppix 4.0 installed on my hdd. i want to uninstall it and merge the partitions which it use. but i dont know how. i would have tried somethng but i dont know would the uninstalation and the merging of linux paritions destroy my other os - windows xp.

Boot computer with Windows XP installation CD and select "Recovery console". At the prompt, enter "fixmbr". This will overwrite grub and create a standard mbr. Why didn't you try Kanotix as I suggested?
