Fonts configuration for remasterred Knoppix

Hello,
I have problems with fonts in Knoppix.

This is taken from Debian Sarge - all fonts are great - Hebrew and English fonts look very good - readable with normal antialiasing (default installtion)



This one taken from Knoppix - the hebrew fonts are too anti-aliased and english fonts and numbers come without anti-aliasing at all.



It seems to me that it is not Anti-Aliasing only but they use different fonts.

This happens in Firefox and in Knoqueror - the settings in all browsers and systems same (Serif and Sans-Serif fonts are taken)

What Kalus Knopper had done to make fonts look like that? I want to make them look like in Debian Sarge Default settings. Where should I go to change these settings?

Perhaps you should run

dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config

and choose Autohinter, then Automatic and No (enable bitmapped font by default).

Just compare if Knoppix differs from Sarge.
