black screen on wide acer?

I boot 5.0.1. just by pressing enter. It detects everything but when the X is starting i just get black screen and i hear "startup sequence initiated" and still a black screen and it stays black.

i got Acer 5024WLMi with x700 on PCI-Express and 15.4" wide LCD, so i guess this is a problem with graphic or lcd

but, failsafe boots fine into knoppix.....

how to run to avoid black screen?

Try cheat code knoppix xmodule=vesa.

I have this too on a Thinkpad T21. If I use the config file from 4.* it comes up OK but just enter gives black screen..

try to see if your laptop can boot into knoppix via your CRT/DVI outlet.

with my Asus A7Db i can't see knoppix via the laptops monitor,
but when i attach my desktop's monitor via the CRT outlet,
i have a succesfull boot, or atleast i can see a successful boot.
