localize & hdinstall (knoppix 3.1)

dear all,
i follow the instruction in knoppix faq
to install knoppix 3.1(en) to hdd.
after installed to hdd,
the kde-menu is in german
how to change kde-menu to english?
thanks in advanced!

(i tryed to set LANGUAGE="us", but it doesn't work

)
