PCI modems use nonstandard COM ports (COM 5 in this case, called ttyS4).

Here is his script:

Type this into a root shell:

cd /dev
./MAKEDEV ttyS4
ln -s ttyS4 modem
chmod 777 modem
chmod 777 ttyS4

To get a root shell. KStart==>KNOPPIX==>root shell.
You'll have to type this each time you start your computer. I'm trying to write a BASH script to do this but so far no luck.
