your hardware should be fine. beryl works with geforce 4. it may not work on live cd as Nvidia doesn't allow to use their original drivers in distros
like it was with korrora. I wonder if it will work after HDinstall, and installing drivers from Nvidia site. unfortunately I don't have time now to reinstall knoppix.
