hi all,
I tried to take a dd image of 1 gb usb pen drive in redhat EL4 it took abt 2 mts, i tried the same in debian also, installed in the same machine. it also took abt 2 mts.. but when i tried to take the dd image in knoppix it took nearly about 16mts... Why is this??? is it because dma is not enabled in knoppix... then how could i enbale this for usb devices. when i give the cheatcode knoppix dma it enables the dma for harddisk only.
How could i increase the speed.??????????
plz help
