Linneighbourhood/Samba not working in 05-16 and 05-20?

I'm a bit surprised that I haven't seen any posts on this.

It may be just me, but Linneighbourhood/Samba worked fine for me
up until the 05-16 ISO, when Samba 2.99 replaced samba 2.whatever.
Now Linneighbourhood runs, but doesn't seem to work at all.

I'm assuming Linn... doesn't support 2.99, or possibly there is
some configuration issue.

Is this a bug? Can someone point me to a post or FAQ about
using samba 2.99 in Knoppix?

ah, i was wondering what changed ... i used Linneighbourhood on our LAN and got every domain and workgroup available, but with the latest versions i get an empty screen ?!
i'll try version 05-03 and see it that still works ...
