I would like to start Knoppix with the "bootfrom" command and to store settings and data in a persitant image on an USB stick. My plan is to automate booting by coding the "bootfrom"-step and the confirmation step of using the persistant image. Up to now I have uncompressed and copied the CD to a Fat32 partition of my hardisk. My questions:
1) Will it be successful to edit the files lilo.conf and menu.lst in the Windows environment to prepare the new image, or will the Fat32 format cause problems?
2) Where exactly in lilo.conf and menu.lst is the place to insert "Bootfrom=/dev/hda1/knx.iso"?
3) What exactly is the change to automate the use of the Persistant Image?
Many thanks in advance
Claus
