hard drives showing up as sd

i don't think this is a problem but i found it odd that my hard drive on my laptop shows up as sda i dont know if it means anything but i found it realy odd that it did this when nomaly it is hda i am using 5.1i think i will have to double check if it does it with an older verson and see if i can figure if it my hardware acting strange.

It likely means that the hard drive has an SATA interface rather than an ATA interface. Many new laptops do. You didn't identify your laptop, so I can't tell you for sure, I suggest you research the laptop model.
