Knoppix 3.8 and firefox not working (dns problems?)

I've been running knoppix 3.8.

The included version of konqueror 3.3.2 runs fine and goes to any internet website.

However firefox (version 1.0.2) tops working after the first 10 or 12 minutes. It comes up with the message with any internet website "The connection was refused when attempting to connect to <internet website". Replace the <internet website> with any website. Funnily enough it's possible to connect to the local router using an ip number only and other websites using ip numbers.

I had time for a more elaborate indepth search of the problem and here's the solution. Just in case for those reading it.

Technical reason for problem - router doesn't relay ipv6 dns properly

Solution #1 Instead of using the router as a dns proxy go direct to isp server.
