I just installed Knoppix 7-26 on my HD.
I also missed my web-connexion on the ASUS A7N8X Deluxe board.

The problem was solved by editing the file /etc/network/interfaces to:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

and the connexion was up and running (after a reboot of course ).
