Hi everybody,

I am using LaTeX for quite a long time and are used to just typing german special characters directly into an UTF-8 coded tex file. Unfortunately it seems to me that LaTeX delivered with Knoppix does not support UTF-8 properly because there is no ucs.sty found.

Does anybody have experiences with Knoppix, LaTeX and UTF-8 so far?

Can you add UTF-8 support for LaTeX to the next Knoppix release?
