having trouble with knoppix

i burnt the cd and it boots up but it then goes through a bunch of stuff and then shows a thing like
a\>
and i dont know what to enter!
ive tried cheat codes and stuff but it says command not found!

please help me!

It would help to know what that "bunch of stuff" is in more detail, but it really sounds like you didn't make the CD properly (I'm guessing you chose some option in your burning software, likely Nero, that claims to make the CD bootable). See answer #1 for more details.
