Monitor + "Frequency out of range"

I just got knoppix 5.1.1 and i have a Gateway FPD1975W LCD 19" Monitor and a GeForce 7600GS graphics card. When i try to install knoppix everything goes fine until the desktop is supposed to appear (after x-windows is launched). I am thinking it has to do with the monitor since i used the same knoppix on an older computer and a CRT monitor and i worked fine. If anyone has any idea how to fix this please let me know. Thanks

Is this a laptop? One wonders since you're in the laptop forum but this seems to have nothing to do with a laptop. And you say that you are installing, which is usually such a problem with Knoppix that a forum is dedicated to those who want to fight the problems caused by installing Knoppix. Would you like this moved to that forum?

Verifying of md5 checksum and burning a CD at slow speed are important.
