"USB Flash unmounted incorrectly" on every boot (n

I've made a home directory on a USB Flash drive. The shutdown script on display unmounts it uneventfully, but on boot it always complains, than fixes something (nodes, etc.). So far no loss of data, but I don't feel comfortable. What am I doing wrong?

    Best regards, Alexey

    Hi Alexey,

I think you and I have very similar problems except mine is on a hard disk instead of a USB drive. (see post "Error messages when loading persistent image"). The Knoppix shutdown script is written to suppress error messages for the umount commands so something might be going on there and we would not know it. One interesting test for your system might be to see if you can create a home directory on a partition of your hard drive and see if you still get the messages.

    Regards,
    Bill

    Well hello again Bill...
I just left a reply on your topic. As you can see I in my output, my knoppix.img is on a hard drive... and still gets the errors.
    That thread is here...
