Activate Network card :)

Hi, i recently broke the hdd for my laptop(sony vaio) and i decided to use knoppix but can't get the network card to power up
can anybody help?

can anybody help?

Knoppix should be able to recognize the wired network card, if not try to force it with the command

 sudo pump -i eth0
