Converting a laptop to picture frame

[Davy27]

Hey you all must have seen the projects where you take a laptop and remodel it to be a interactive/ever changing picture frame?

Basically is this do-able on Knoppix? I would like to, ideally, be able to set delays between pics as a bare minimum but eventually maybe have one per day of the week and automatic transfer once a usb is inserted with pics on it.

Maybe it already has something to help me do this?

Any ideas/suggestions?

In KDE, I believe that you can assign a folder of pictures to be wallpaper and or screensaver. You can have the system cycle through the pictures and you can specify the amount of delay.

Such a bad idea to try to use Knoppix rather than a simple clean Linux distro more suitable for this purpose.
