Toshiba Satellite 2435 Hangs After "Ok Booting the kern

Hi all, just wandered if there is anything else i can do to get this Toshiba Satellite 2435-S255 Working.

Here is the output.

"boot: failsafe
Loading vmlinuz............
Loading miniroot.gz.....
Ready.
Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.

"
The system is hung after this point. This same CD (3.2 beta 5-20-2003) has Hard Drive installed to another PC so I'm pretty sure its not a corrupted CD problem.

Any pointers would be great.

Ok found a thread about this problem. This last posting seems to indicate Compaq and other "newer" laptops may have similar problems.

More digging. I found the holy grail of my problems. Unfortunately, It seems I will have to wait for 2.4.22; hopefully that will have APIC patch needed for my laptop. It would really be nice to get the Toshiba Utils included in Knoppix.

i have the same error... but i am too new at linux (otherwise why would i want to use knoppix to learn )...

dun someone have the iso that support toshi notebook?
