Remaster Help!!

i am tring to remaster knoppix useing this guide "http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Knoppix_...or_Remastering" i am running knoppix 4.0.2 from a livecd and every time what ever i do i spent 5 hours looking up on google and almost half the websites in the world on this problem and nothing that work i had it and about to have a hart atack over this when i enter "cp -Rp /KNOPPIX/* /mnt/hda1/knx/source/KNOPPIX" in to the root shell program it says to use i get an operation not permmited error on every single file it trys to copy to my hard drive and the drive im coping to is fat32 format can some one help me with this!

Use ext3 instead. FAT32 does not allow for the same permissions.
