Boot stops at 'root@Microknoppix'

Movable X on black screen (large outline font).

Using asus M3N78-VM, 3 GB ram.

(Works fine on Dell Dim 8200, 750 MB ram).

Any thoughts.........(new to linux, want a rescue disk for winxp).

You likely need to find the right "cheat code" or codes to work on that system. See the cheat code documentation that comes with a torrent download or follow the Documentation link near the top of this page and read the section of the wiki on cheat codes.

Additional thoughts: This really doesn't sound like a burning issue, but burns at high speeds cause problems when booting on some systems but not others. For the most reliable disc, burn at low speed. And 6.x unfortunately isn't the best version of Knoppix to keep for a rescue disk. Download copies of 5.x while you still can (or even better 4.02 if you can still find it). A lot of stuff that you may want was dropped from the 6.x discs. The 5.x discs are poorly organized compared to 4.02 (a lot of stuff is in lost and found) but they still have a lot more tools if you can find them and are easier to use that 6.x discs.
