who do i change resolution?

i have a toshiba 660CDT and i tried to change the resolution using
knoppix screen=800x600 but it wont work.
the problem is that i can't see the whole screen so i can't even use the expert startup.
what can i do????

What if any other cheat codes have you tried?

"knoppix screen=800x600 vga=normal xmodule=vesa"
