need help with disabling annoying knoppix graphics effect

it is getting on my nerves everytime that effect kicks in my pc freezes. my pc is a small powered laptop dell inspiron 600m now why did you put that resource hogger to the default. could you guys now help me how to disable that useless graphics effect help pls.

Are you talking about the screen switching when you put the mouse in the top right or top left corner? Boot Knoppix with the no3d option. That is, type:
knoppix no3d
at the initial boot screen.
