    Warum will die Knoppix-Firewall Konfiguration nicht speichern?

    Ich habe Knoppix 6.4.3 erfolgreich auf Flashkarte installiert. Leider kann ich auf meinem Intel D865GLC nicht davon booten.

    Auf einem Toshiba A500 02-F konnte ich aber doch, und danach habe ich auch eine knoppix-data.img hergestellt worin ich meine System-Konfiguration und neu installierte Programme speichern kann. Die Ausnahme (bis jetzt) ist die Knoppix Firewall .

    When ich versuche, ihre Konfiguration zu speichern, bekomme ich, wie zuvor, die Mahnung, dass ich erst eine "persistent image file" herstellen muss.

    Das habe ich aber schon getan.Und es funktioniert sonst, denn meine Installierung des UFRAW plug-ins fuer Gimp (UFRAW-GIMP) sitzt darin und wirkt.

    Also muss ich jedes mal, dass ich Knoppix boote, die Feuerwand neu herstellen. Gibt es ein Fix dafuer?

    ... ich habe per Zufall gesehen, daß du auch hier im deutschsprachigen Teil vom knoppix.net-Forum postest. Dieser Teil ist ziemlich tot.

    Das eigentliche deutschsprachige Forum ist http://www.knoppixforum.de/

    Deine Beobachtung bezüglich der Firewall stimmt; wohl ein Fehler in Startscript. Klaus Knopper hat für die nächsten Tage die Version 6.4.4 angekündigt. Wollen wir mal abwarten, ob der Fehler dann gefixt ist.

    Danke Werner. Ich schau mal auf the richtige Seite hin, aber Deutsch ist sowieso ziemlich schwierig fuer mich, und besonders mit dem Informatik-wortschatz. Ich freue mich jedenfalls, das man hier ab und zu eine hilfliche Antwort bekommt, auch wenn sie meistens nur erklaert, dass die Sache hoffnungslos ist.

    Also werde ich mich nicht laenger quaelen, bis Nummer 6.4.4 erscheint. Hoffentlich bringt darin Klaus auch die moeglichkeit zurueck, eine persistent image file ohne Installation zu Festplatte oder USBflash zu benutzen.

    Vielleicht habe ich seine moegliche Motive auch nicht voellig ausgedacht,. Es koennte ja auch sein., dass er das nur getan hat um die Bootzeit so gering we moeglich zu machen. Das waer genauso doof, meine ich, aber vielleicht etwas besser gemeint.

    Er brauchte ja nur einen bestimmten "knoppix" Befehl bei boot-up zu Verfuegung stellen, wodurch der Benutzer dem Linux Bootloader entweder einen bestimmten Pfaden zu seinem image file gibt, oder ihm befehlt, alle Partitions fuer Knoopix imgages zu durchsuchen und davon eine Bootliste herzustellen.

    Sonst ist fuer mich Knoppix nichts mehr als ein Demo-disk, und ich mache schon wenigstens seit Knoppix 3.x mit.

    ... hast du dir mal '/mount-system/KNOPPIX/knoppix-cheatcodes.txt' angesehen - besonders den Absatz "Configuration / Persistent image"?

    ... ich habe mir jetzt mal das Script '/usr/sbin/firewall' angesehen. Die Funktion "saveconfig()" ist für die irreführende Meldung verantwortlich.

    Wenn du aber auf dem Stick persistent memory erstellt hast, wird es auch für die dauerhafte Einstellung der Firewall benutzt. Du kannst unter '/etc/sysconfig/firewall' sehen, daß deine Änderungen gespeichert werden und auch nach dem reboot vorhanden sind.
