Synaptic Package Manager/V7.0.3 LiveCD HANG!

Hi,
The following error trapped on initial Synaptic Package Manager launch:

 E: The value 'wheezy' is invalid for APT::Default-Release as such a release is not available in the sources
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Clicking 'CLOSE' zaps Synaptic Package Manager, rendering it useless!
Is there a patch?

Aptitude had a fit, like SPM! apt-get did the update & upgrade w/o a hitch.
FYI 7.0.3 froze on boot, while 6.71 did not, on the old 500MHz, 95MB RAM hp DT.
